I had this idea in my head of a french-wallpaper style pattern with lots of dots everywhere (and of course some little birds thrown in there). It turned out ok, but I think it needs "more". I might develop it further sometime.

Now, if only I could find some sort of studio job where I get to make patterns at times, now that would be great. I'm almost starting to lean away from the whole client oriented web/graphic design world and am getting more enjoyment making things. Crafty things to sell in shops maybe, like Douglas & Hope or
Wilkins & Kent. Ahh, pipe dreams.

Hey, thanks for the comment on my blog, I just started out so it is nice to know it isn't going into lala land! Etsy is going well, I started my shop about 3 weeks ago and have sold 7 things. I really good thing about it is I am not just watching television when I get home from work, I am making things. I have mainly sold to friends, but thats good, because they will spread the word. I am loving your wallpaper patterns, they are so lovely. You should start up an etsy shop, we need more Australians! We just started a street team to help promote it here.

Hey! I have a silk screen and I cut my stencils out using a knife and cartridge paper. I think my old art teacher had a similar thing to a Gocco, and I could love to have access to a light sensitive print (there might be one over in our art dept) for the pefectness of it. At the moment I am enjoying the cut outs because you can surprisingly get some beautiful fine lines and it can be slightly rustic.

I love your jewelry! I am really fussy with jewelry and find a lot of it isn't really my cup of tea, but the stuff you did was really classy and stylish!

your work is fantastic. Very inspiring. I too am trying some pattern design at the moment. You are living in the best place in Australia for design. Make the most of it. Did you go to National School of Design at Swinburne?

Thanks Tiel!! Yes it is very inspiring living in Melbourne! I didn't get into NSOD unfortunately as I had a poor academic school folio ;) I ended up doing the Bachelor of Multimedia at Swin Hawthorn instead, which was still pretty good but heaps less design focussed. Did you teach there?

hi there. yes I did teach at NSD. I taught the B of MM students when they came across and also the graphic design students some flash animation. I worked with James, Nikki and Anita amongst others. I was there 2000-2002 I think. I also taught the design students at SWIN TAFE. I had my first child in 02 and so we decided to come back to Qld where our family is. I now have 2 under 4 and although motherhood has been full on, I am enjoying my time to get back to some craft/art things. I freelance when I have some time. I miss Melbourne soooo much. Keep up the good work. i'll add you to my good blogging list.

Ahh yes, I remember James! He taught me in first year I think. If you were there from 2000-2002, you mught have taught my boyfriend Pete Caddy who did the Bachelor of Design (MM) during that time... small world!

I love, love, love your print designs. I did textile design at uni majored in Printed textiles and feel exactly the same as you...I work in the web/graphics industry too which is fine for a job but I relish the time when I can get stuck into my own thing...good for you!

No, can't remember Pete. Mind you I taught over 300 students a week and for a little while was in charge of 500+. And trust me, not nearly as stressful as having a 17 month old child and being 8 months pregnant. Maybe a little more paperwork!
