Cushions!

I'm very excited to announce that I'm going to be doing the Melbourne Design Market this year! Alongside Bianca and some other talented folk, I'm going to have a selection of products available on the Bamakko stand, which I will be helping to man on the day. I've never done a market before, so this will certainly be jumping in the deep end!

As a result, I've been focusing on some product development. Next in line - cushions! I really like how the houses & bicycles print looks on them - very whimsical and apt for a kids room or any other cute, colourful spot in the house. I've popped a few up in my shop to see how they go:

Houses & Bicycles cushion in Orange (softie by One Red Robin)

Houses & Bicycles cushion in Robins Egg

Houses & Bicycles cushion in Teal

I'm only selling the covers for now as the inserts are a waste of postage, but plan to get some nice feather & foam inserts for market day :)

Bamakko exhibition

This weekend has been somewhat of a crafty marathon for me. I decided last minute to contribute some works to the Bamakko 'Screened' exhibition. Bamakko is a local shop run by another crafty man who makes bags and things, and he's been having themed exhibitions for the last few months. This coming one is focussed on all things screen printed, and myself, Bianca and Anna Laura are all submitting bits and pieces.

Along with my Sia's Village print, I'm going to submit these gocco printed Moleskine notebooks (thanks to Paola for planting the seed of that idea!):

It's not confirmed yet, but hopefully he'll also take some of these cushions (if they don't take up too much room). Thought I should actually submit something fabric based!

Okay, I need to go flop on the couch and do some serious relaxing...

craftin' with mah birches

I've been fixated lately with the idea of making a bunch of stuff with my fabric and taking some fancy product shots. Lotta style. I plan to enlist a friend's fancy DSLR and rustic dining table and have a lotta (haw haw) fun with it.

These aren't an example of such 'fancy shots', just my feeble attempts to tide me over in the meantime:

I love the way these photos totally conceal the wonkyness of the potholder. Obviously I have a lot to learn about sewing with batting and quilting :)
