a long day

It has been somewhat of a mammoth day! The shop has been cleared out of all fabric except for some of the gold raindrops and poppies. Which is funny because they were my favs! But each to their own :)

This morning was more stressful than usual - Etsy threw it's hands up in the air a couple of times when two people tried to buy the same item at once, dropping items out of their cart and all sorts of things. Many upset emails were received. But all was smoothed out in the end.

In the midst of it all, my letterpress tags made their way up into the shop also:

Thanks again to Lynn from Satsuma Press for doing the printing :)

Definitely time to clock off. Dumplings and Kareoke time I think...

Just a quick comment regarding the gold raindrops and poppies...I was one of the lucky ones able to purchase your fabric and the decision regarding which pattern and color to buy was SO hard. I was panicked that I was going to miss out by taking too long to choose. I vacillated between the blue and the gold, blue won out this time but I loved the gold. I am so excited to actually get to see, touch your fabric in person!

hmm... i agree with tanya. it's a hard decision and i was freaking out about it being gone too. but hey, that's why i chose a different color for each print i bought. man... if only i were somewhat richer. just somewhat. then i can buy them all...

it's 11am our time. you're probably still asleep.. but i'm not sure.. i need to get one of those maps with the time zones!

Ok, this isn't directly related but it's about Australian fabric design, so...

SBS is showing Unfolding Florence, the feature length doco about Florence Broadhurst on Sunday night. Yes, that's tomorrow. Definitely recommended!

OooooOOOOOOh! Thanks for the heads up Anonymous!! I've been wanting to see that film for ages but missed it in the cinemas and can't find it on DVD. Thank you!

Thanks for the positive reinforcement and the encouragement! I am excited to have finally started doing this :)

I've only been *de-institutionalized* (so to speak) for 2 weeks now, but I'm already realising how different it is to work creatively from home. It must be quite lonely at times without the surrounding network of staff and students and the direct support of friends (that you receive at uni...and that I have become very much accustomed to). I think that is another very important need that the blog realm fills. It helps us to feel less isolated...and that has to be a good thing :)

Your gift tags printed by Satsuma Press are just gorgeous by the way!! I love them.

xox.
