Open Studio at Ink & Spindle

Lara at the Ink & Spindle studio

Oh my goooawd. I am so glad to be finally winding down before Christmas!! We're off to Ballarat tonight, I had my hair cut for the first time in 4 months, and I just bought 2.5kg of Lindt Couverture to make chocolates as Christmas gifts. When your crafty pursuits become your work the logical thing is to seek out some other crafty pursuit which you can do for 'fun'. Making Chocolates is that for me, I think. And oh my gosh have you ever visited Cake Deco in the city? AWESOMENESS.

Anyway, one last thing we're going to do before closing up shop is an Open Studio evening at Ink & Spindle next Tuesday! It's a bit last minute, and it's not our official 'opening night' or anything like that (although we do plan to have one of those in the new year) but it's mainly an excuse to crack open some bubbly and some snacks and have some wares on display just in case you need to do some last minute Christmas shopping.

So please, if you're free Tuesday night please come along and say hello! It's from 6pm - 8:30pm at our studio:

Ink & Spindle Studio
Younghusband Wool store
Suite 206
10 Elizabeth Street
Kensington VIC 3031

Hope to see you there :)

Yes - welcome to the world of professional crafting ...and bad hair!! ;) Glad you found the time to get to the hairdresser - I'm yet to do that!!

What a shame my family has our main xmas shindig on Tuesday. Hope it all goes well, and that 2009 is a brilliant year for you.

Oh, 2.5 kilos of Lindt? Ohhh Myyy...

I wish I could come to your open studio night. Makes me wish I lived in Melbourne - I really want to check out those markets one day too.

Just in case you don't post beforehand: Have a great Chrissie and a RELAXING break!!

Would have loved to have checked out your new studio - perhaps another day (or year)... oh yeah, I'm heading to London tomorrow and I remembered a post of yours from AGES ago with all these great suggestions of crafty places to visit. Thank you! I'll see if I can squeeze them all in. Have a Merry Christmas!

I found your blog searching "making chocolates" online. You and your readers may be interested in a how to video on making chocolates. I put the URL under my name in this post.

an easy and simply delicious chocolat treat is to melt the best quality chocolat you can find, then drop small teaspoons of it on a lined baking pan, press into the warm chocolate a mixture of nuts and dried fruits. Cool in the frig, peal off the paper, and gift it or enjoy!

I’m on my way. It’s seems to be interesting and fun thing to do.
Honestly, I need last minute Christmas shopping, and chocolate is great. It must be a great chocolate if you didn't cut your hair for 4 months to do it. I wonder how much chocolate you make from 2.5kg Lindt Couverture, and I’m surely hope that it's enough.
I’m glad for you that the logical thing for you is to seek out crafty pursuit for 'fun’, which is making Chocolates.
