I ♥ my Bicycle

my new bicycle ♥
My new bike - Charge Tap from Cyclic Bikes on Pin Oak Crescent

I first saw my new bicycle about three weeks ago when I popped into the local bike shop for a service. I spotted the bike, eyed it off, remarked how nice it looked, and was pretty much a lost cause after Evan the shop owner suggested I take it for a spin.

So, I spent the next two weeks thinking about it and trying to justify the purchase. I had been riding a heavy mountain bike to work every day and managed to convince myself that I do indeed need a proper commuter since I'm not climbing mountains. Plus Moo has been pretty good to me over the xmas period.

And I am SO glad I did. I love my new bicycle. It's simple, lightweight, has hub gears and I'm much more likely to ride it than my old bike. Which means less driving. And that's a HUGE plus to me and our planet ;)

Charge Tap - that saddle is more comfy than it looks

Charge Tap - 8 speed gear hub - how cool!

I highly recommend!

Aw nice. I love my Giant Cypress City, it has a gear hub too - but most importantly a chain guard and mud guards!

Enjoy!!

After a hot and sleepless melbourne night, I can't be 100% sure that this sighting is accurate - but isn't this your birch fabric on Soulemama's inspriation board? http://www.soulemama.com/soulemama/2010/01/back-to-work.html

Oooh, lovely! What where you riding before? I have a hybrid and I decided on the ride in today that I NEED a commuter bike. Because, frankly, I am never going to be riding up mountains. But my bike is heavy, and every time there's a headwind I get so puffed!

But I'm not sure when I can afford a new bike - does a lighter bike make much of a difference?

Great bike. I don't think I've seen a Charge bike before. I'm a big fan of internal hubs. I always forget to change gears before coming to a complete stop, so I appreciate the ability to downshift while not pedaling.

I agree that a cute bike makes cycling more fun :) Enjoy!

What a beauty!
I like bicycles so much that a very sleek and don't have all those screaming letters on them.

Mine is light grey with black additions and a black leather saddle. It's equipped for travelling and for sure she and I would love to ride Australia.

Have fun with yours
