I enjoyed reading your guest post a lot. Especially the bit about the reality of income when you're a small business owner. This is something I've been grappling with lately and I haven't found an answer to what I need in terms of income to feel happy and healthy, but your post helped me realise that I can make choices that suit me. Thanks chicko!

Not wankerish at all! Just the right kind of inspiration and reminder I needed this weekend. Thank you!

lara, you are a rare and truly beautiful gem! this post reflects so many of my thoughts and touched on the very real transition into parenthood. holding similar values, it is my experience that the balance i had prior to children has been somewhat challenged since our girls joined us. when invoices haven't been paid, a tomato for dinner and crummy accommodation isn't appropriate for such teeny souls. it has been a confronting few years for my husband and i to have expenses upon our small businesses that we have never had to face previously. our girls are little. their needs are space, clothes and fresh, healthy food - these basic things are super expensive. may our little businesses continue to provide ample funds for our pretty simple needs so that i don't have to go back to working in an industry that is anything but ethical and sustainable x

Dear Lara, I loved your post, and you didn't sound like a wanker at all!

It was refreshing to hear from someone who has experienced what it is like to have to let go of the dream of owning a home, but knowing you have gained a new perspective from that and that you are enjoying it is great.

Love the choice of quote too
