That only happens to *other* people

You know those competitions on the back of food products that nobody you know ever wins so there's no point entering them?

Did you know that Creative Gourmet, the company who make the frozen blueberries and raspberries that I have on my porridge (yes, even in summer) had a competition to win a Kitchenaid mixer?

I entered that competition. AND I WON.

kitchenaid

I mean WTF!?!? That NEVER happens!! And a Kitchenaid Mixer of ALL THINGS! That's one of those prizes that you actually WANT, but would never buy for yourself and would maybe get as a wedding present or something.

One minute I was sitting on the couch SMS-ing the code from the inside of the box to enter the competition. One second later I got a "congratulations" message back and could hardly believe my eyes. The next minute I was all over twitter telling everyone the good news ;)

I even got to choose the colour.

kitchenaid

Now to actually make time to do some baking!!

(I hope I haven't used up all my good luck)

xx

That is the exact mixer I want in the exact color. I'm crazy jealous!

Yay for winning things!! that has to be one of the best feelings in the world...especially when it's something you want.
I must admit though...my main reason for piping in is to tell you that i am highly jealous of your beautiful window box and even more jealous of the abundance of cilantro coming out of it. Yumm.

Winning something is the best - actually the BEST is when it's something as awesome as a Kitchenaid. Sooo jealous!! Congrats.

Congratulations! Great choice of colour!

I never thought anybody won those competitions either until I won a $1,000 Coles gift card just before Christmas one year. That was awesome.

Well done!

Amazing luck! Congratulations. More importantly, however, you have inspired me to make my own herb box for the kitchen.

That's fantastic! I love my Kitchen Aids. Yes, that's a plural. I have the same one you have, in white, that my husband/then boyfriend got me as a gift, ten years ago. Love it! A few years back I realized I needed a bigger one, for Thanksgiving. I was planning to sell the first, but I just couldn't. So, now I have two. And am coveting the 75th edition candy apple red one. :O)

You'll have it forever. That's awesome.

Oh, I WISH!! I NEVER win stuff like that. Last Easter I went in a similar comp where they were giving away a Sunbeam mixmaster once a week to 10 people for 4 weeks...I was so sure I could be one of the 40. But I wasn't. Lucky girl.

Congratulations on winning! Great choice in color! I have a vintage white Kitchenaid, and have been so content with it- but seeing the color of yours makes me want to splurge on one :/

Wow, that's great! I have started entering the competitions that appear in Country Living magazine, which I have a subscription to. You never know with postal votes though!

L A R A....they cost a Fortune!!!!! Congratulations!!!

Jacinta said...

Who would've thought you'd get so many comments due to a KitchenAid mixer?! ;)
But they are definitely a coveted thing to have. We bought one using wedding gift money. They are definitely worth every cent.. tough, good looking and I suppose a bit of a luxury kitchen item too.

I won a BBQ worth two grand in an SMS comp about 4 years ago.... and we've only JUST been able to take it out of the box because we never had anywhere for it to go! But who spends that much on a BBQ anyway?! :)

Wendy said...

Oh yay!!! Congratulations! I love love love my kitchenaid... happy baking to you :)

Alicia said...

Oh wow, congratulations! I tried to ente that competition online, and it wouldn't let me- should have sms'd!

Yay! Good work! All these good things are flowing to you... You must be on the right track. MMMmm Hhmmm

Jacqueline said...

Just make sure it isn't set to 1 when you plug it in and as a further precaution remember to take all the attachments out of the bowl in case it is set to 1 and you plug it in and unwittingly turn the switch on at the wall then watch in horror as it commences the 'planetary mixing action' with all the other metal attachments still in the bowl. Yep, that's what I did to mine the very first time I used it!!@@##$%!! Lovely colour choice :)

lindsey clare said...

awww, congrats! free stuff is the best :)

marelle said...
